Broughton Park FC
Tyldesley RUFC

The game was actually at Tyldesley.

As Tyldesley saw the game:-

Our under 12's welcomed Broughton Park (BP) for our first game in quite some time thanks to the Beast from the East. We had the minimum players of 12 available and BP had 16 so new that fitness could well play a factor. BP started the brightest with some solid powerful running which eventually broke our defensive line. We seemed to struggle to protect the ball at the break down which often lead to turnovers or slowed our attack down considerably.
We began to find our rhythm and our kicking game seemed perfect. We played the territory/possession game to our advantage and manage to create scoring opportunities which we took and created a lead. The game seemed very even with both teams taking it in turns to score and turnover possession. Every time we seemed to get the upper hand BP came back at us and evened up the score.
It was evident that we hadn't played in a while and we seemed a little disjointed in attack and defence but we did just enough to scrape a win 45-40.

We need to hit the training field again before a mini-tournament at Rochdale on Friday night.

Thanks to Broughton Park for a good game of rugby and good luck for the rest of the season.
