In celebration of the upcoming 6 Nations tournament, and a great excuse to get active, Broughton Park are challenging you to join our club challenge. Each game week, as a club, we will attempt to ‘travel’ the combined mileage from the clubhouse to each host stadium (virtually, of course!).

You can walk, run, or cycle, simply log your mileage however you see fit (Strava, Google Maps, Nike +, photo of an odometer or fitbit, any other distance tracking app!) , and each week, send your completed mileage in to bpfc.challenge@gmail.com. Treadmills, turbo trainers, exercise bikes etc are all accepted along with outdoor mileage. Note, daily distance/step counts will not count, we want to see a specific period of exercise please.

There will be prizes for most individual miles, most miles as a team, most creative miles, best-dressed miles and more

If you are impressed by our efforts please donate to our rugby club here:

Multipliers

Running/walking

x1

Cycling

x0.4

Under 14

x1.5

Under 10

x2

Over 60

x1.5

For example, a 9 year old who logs 2 miles walking, will get x1 for the method, and x2 age multipler, so the total miles logged will be 4 miles. Similarly, a 13 year old who cycles 5 miles will get 5 miles x 0.4 (method) x 1.5 (age) = 3 miles.

Guidance for coaches and parents:

COVID – Please be aware that current COVID restrictions still apply. This means that an individual may exercise outdoors with another individual from another household (socially distanced), but 2 people from one household may NOT exercise outdoors with an individual from another household.

Please ensure suitable clothing is worn for the activity (cycle helmets, knee/elbow protection, hi-vis clothing, suitable footwear, correct lighting equipment on bicycles etc).
