It is with great sadness we announce the death of David Poppitt. David was one of a kind and during his 40+ years of membership has been a coach, referee, Chair of Youth, Club Chairman and Club President (twice). Above all he was a supporter of the club and of our sport and was an ever present on the touchline giving unwavering support. His sense of humour has lit up many afternoons and will be sadly missed. Our thoughts are with Sue and his family at this sad time.

Update: The funeral will take place on Friday 25th September at 12. 15pm at St Elizabeth’s Church, St Elizabeth’s Way, Reddish, Stockport SK5 6DJ. This will be followed by a service of cremation at the Rowan Chapel at Stockport Crematorium at 1.45. pm.
We will continue our celebration of David’s life at Broughton Park Rugby Club, 2 Houghend Crescent, Mauldeth Road West, M21 7TL
