Former 1st team top try scorer two seasons on the trot. Was it a speedy winger or a tricky centre or a dominutive scrum half? No, it was Mark Poole from the 2nd row. Good to see him on the coaching team. Many of Mark's tries came from the so called 'ragbone'. We don't see it much these days, is it because we don't have anyone as good as he was at carrying it out?
Former captain and top points scorer for many seasons up to the present day. Kick 'em from anywhere Ronan O'Brien.
Another former captain left us for a time to ply his trade in the very top echelons of the leagues playing with Paul Turner's Sale. Graham Higginbotham.
Former Lancashire player and many time 1st team captain playing at No. 8 and blind side flanker, Head Coach John Clifford.
With family committments they can't get down for every session or every game but because there is a team they can spread the work load around. It seems to be working, judging by the performance against 2nd in the table Liverpool St Helens on Saturday.
The 2nd half of the season will be tougher than the first half with away games against the the next 5 teams in the league. Liverpool SH, Anselmians, Bowdon, Glossop and Tyldesley. I'm sure that both teams, coaching and playing, will be up for it.
