John Russell passed the message on this morning (29th March) that his Mother, Jackie, has passed away.
Jackie along with Sid Harris's mum used to help out in the Kitchen providing meals for players. She was also well to the fore helping at other Club 'do's'.
John is a longtime stalwart of the club, playing prop in his playing career for Broughton Park and also at the very top level for Orrell when Orrell were in the very top division. He also played many times for Lancashire, when playing for the County meant something.
John still supports the club via Sponsorship with his company The Fairholme Group.
